Impressionist Poetry:
As with the Impressionists, an immediate experience of non-linear logic allows the reader to absorb the essentials without becoming implicated in stock details. One’s internal state of being, personal experience of consciousness, like light, is ephemeral and, if literally transcribed, would not likely make much sense. It is that ‘light’ I seek to capture and probe: deconstructing objective resonant vibrations or moods and applying them, undifferentiated, toward a unified theme, excepting that I, unlike the Impressionists, seek to represent a largely subjective reality – namely, the unique perceptions of what it is like to be and experience me. Thus, the general focus of Sometimes Brand of Variegated Larynx, The, is stream of consciousness with specific intent. It is extracted and isolated, used like the dot or sprained stroke, to illustrate an impression upon its audience of certain realities, behaviors of ‘light.’
